Time for another WHAT TO WEAR post! Today's post is all about what to wear to a baby shower when you're attending as a guest. Here are three simple formulas to put together a great outfit.

A few weeks ago I introduced a new series here on Merrick's Art. It's called WHAT TO WEAR, and I'm sharing three outfit formulas, and outfit ideas for a specific occasion. Today we're talking about what to wear to a baby shower when attending as a guest!

Three outfit formulas for a baby shower guest outfit
1. A dress and nice shoes makes an easy baby shower guest outfit.
IDEAS FOR EACH SEASON
- If it's spring or summer, a lightweight floral dress, or breezy white dress with flat sandals or wedges would be adorable.
- For the fall, a plaid dress with flats or oxfords would be a great choice.
- And in the winter, a warm wool dress with tights and ankle boots will keep you warm and chic.
2. Jeans and a blouse are a great choice for a baby shower.
IDEAS FOR EACH SEASON
- In the spring or summer, white jeans or light wash denim would be great with pretty shoes and a pretty ruffled or lace blouse.
- For fall, dark wash jeans and a button down shirt make a great baby shower outfit.
- If the shower is in the winter, swap the blouse for a sweater. Choose a fun one with details or embellishments!
3. A skirt and top make a simple and chic baby shower outfit
IDEAS FOR EACH SEASON
- A flowy maxi or midi skirt with a short sleeve sweater is great for the spring or summer. Pair it with sandals or wedges or flats.
- For the fall, a turtleneck with a midi skirt and flats would be pretty and simple.
- During the winter, put on a long skirt (or short skirt with tights) and a sweater so you will stay warm!

Three outfit formulas for a baby shower guest outfit
These are three easy formulas for a great baby shower outfit. You can use these outfits as inspiration to put together things in your closet, OR find links to all these pieces below!
Here's a little breakdown of each formula.
1. Jeans and a blouse are a great choice for a baby shower.
IDEAS FOR EACH SEASON
- SPRING/SUMMER: In the spring or summer, WHITE JEANS or LIGHTER WASH DENIM would be great with SIMPLE FLATS and a RUFFLED BLOUSE. Since your top will be more of a statement piece, go simple on the jewelry. A pair of GOLD HOOPS is perfect.
- FALL: During the fall, dark wash jeans and a button down shirt make a great baby shower outfit.
- WINTER: For the winter, swap the blouse for a sweater. Choose a fun one with details or embellishments.
